Regional Hosting
Regional (Multi-tenant) hosting is Monte Carlo’s standard deployment model, designed to deliver a secure and scalable SaaS environment with strong logical isolation between customers. Each regional instance serves multiple tenants within a defined geographic area while maintaining strict separation of customer data and compute resources.
Architecture and Regional Availability
Monte Carlo operates multiple regional instances, each hosted in a defined cloud region to support data residency and regulatory requirements.
Each regional environment leverages AWS multi-availability zones, providing high availability and resilience. Data remains logically separated between customers, ensuring that access, processing, and observability operations are isolated by design.
Data Residency
Regional hosting allows organizations to choose where their Monte Carlo environment processes their monitored data, supporting alignment with corporate and regulatory data residency requirements. The US regional environment ensures data processing remains within the United States, while the EU regional environment provides an option designed for compliance with GDPR and related EU data protection standards.
Feature Availability
Monte Carlo aims for full feature parity across all regional environments, ensuring that customers receive the same observability capabilities regardless of where their instance is hosted. The US region serves as the primary validation and release region, meaning new features and platform updates may be introduced there before rolling out to other instances.
Some legacy features or US specific features may not be available within the EU region today. For more information on those features - please see here.
All regional environments are actively monitored and maintained by Monte Carlo’s engineering team to ensure consistent reliability, performance, and security standards. Feature updates are tested across regions to maintain operational consistency and compliance alignment.
Technical Variations
While all regional instances support the same core functionality, minor differences can exist depending on infrastructure maturity or third-party service availability. Some preview or vendor-dependent features may be temporarily unavailable in new regions until validation is complete.
These variations are limited to supporting infrastructure and do not affect core observability or monitoring capabilities. For any questions or concerns about these variations, please reach out to your Account Representative or [email protected].
