Overview

Monte Carlo takes the privacy of your data seriously. In order to reduce the risk of data leakage, Monte Carlo's core product primarily collects metadata, logs, and metrics for the purpose of identifying data reliability issues.

Additional features are available to drive better insights and troubleshoot data issues faster. These features require access to row level data, which may include personal data depending on the data set. Monte Carlo strongly encourages customers to mask or anonymize personal data at the data source prior to ingesting it into the platform.

We acknowledge that the service may ingest and process personal data as part of query logs or through other data sampling search functionality that you initiate within the Monte Carlo platform. If any such data is passed to Monte Carlo, it is used for the sole purpose of identifying data reliability issues.

Agent Trust works differently. Agent traces can contain personal data that your users type into prompts or that your agents retrieve, so trace content stays in your own environment: the Agent Trust data platform in your cloud account, or your Snowflake or Databricks account. Monte Carlo receives span metadata and evaluation scores, and queries trace content on demand for users whose role allows it. You control what your instrumentation captures, who can read agent content, and how long traces are kept (30 days by default on the data platform). See Agent Trust Privacy & Data Handling.

Monte Carlo handles personal data processed within the platform in compliance with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. These frameworks guide how we collect, process, and protect personal data, including when it is transferred internationally.
