Overview
A check Monte Carlo runs on data or AI agents; it raises alerts when it finds a problem. Generated rules and bulk children have their own key and point to their parent (monitor__parent_monitor_uuid).
Used by the metrics of: Consumption, Coverage, Data quality, Monitor runs
Dimensions
Group by or filter on these names; all dimensions: Dimensions.
| Dimension | Description |
|---|---|
monitor__as_of_date | Today: monitors keep no history, only the current state. |
monitor__is_monitor_child | Generated by a rule or a bulk monitor (has a parent). |
monitor__is_monitor_deleted | The monitor is deleted. |
monitor__is_monitor_draft | The monitor is a draft. |
monitor__is_monitor_erroring | Active and in status Error (the monitor failed to run). |
monitor__is_monitor_live | Active monitor: a monitor that is not paused, deleted or a draft; its status is usually Enabled, Error, Snoozed, Training or Insufficient data. In the product: there is no status called Active. In the API: monitor__is_monitor_live. An out-of-the-box replacement rule is active only while its table is monitored. |
monitor__is_monitor_on_deleted_assets_only | Every asset the monitor references is deleted: spend on it watches nothing that still exists. |
monitor__is_monitor_ootb_replacement | Freshness or volume rule set on one table in place of the freshness or volume check of its Table Monitor. Monitor counts skip them. In the product: not listed as monitors. |
monitor__is_monitor_parent | Has generated children. Multi-table monitor: one monitor definition applied to many tables; Monte Carlo creates one child monitor per table, or per variable value for SQL rules. Monitor counts include it once, not once per child. In the API: monitor__is_monitor_parent, monitor__is_monitor_child. |
monitor__is_monitor_paused | The monitor is paused. |
monitor__monitor_created_at | When the monitor was created (UTC). |
monitor__monitor_creation_source | Where the monitor was created: ui, mac (monitors as code), api, mcp, agent:<name>; empty for older monitors. |
monitor__monitor_data_quality_dimension | Lower case. Data quality dimension: Accuracy, Completeness, Consistency, Timeliness, Uniqueness or Validity, set on a monitor to say which quality risk it covers. |
monitor__monitor_error_message | Error of the last run, only while the status is error. |
monitor__monitor_last_run_at | When the monitor last ran (UTC). |
monitor__monitor_last_run_result | Result of the last run (breached or not), lower case. |
monitor__monitor_name | Monitor name. In the product: the same name. |
monitor__monitor_priority | Empty when not set. Priority: P1 (highest) to P5, the monitor's default for its alerts; an alert merged from several takes the highest. In the product: No priority when not set. |
monitor__monitor_status | Monitor status: whether a monitor runs, failed to run (Error, not that it alerted), is paused or still learning. Deleted monitors keep their last known status (often empty), so exclude them with monitor__is_monitor_deleted, not by status. In the product: the Monitors page status filter: Enabled, Error, Disabled (paused), Snoozed, Training, Insufficient data, Draft. In the API: monitor__monitor_status, in lowercase. |
monitor__monitor_threshold_type | How the monitor's comparisons set thresholds: auto (machine-learned), explicit (static), mixed; empty without comparisons. In the product: Machine learning (auto) and Manual threshold (explicit) on metric and agent monitors; Automated threshold and Explicit threshold in Table monitor settings. |
monitor__monitor_type | Values: table, metric, custom_sql, validation, freshness, volume, metric_comparison, comparison, json_schema, query_performance, categories, field_quality, bulk_metric, bulk_pii, agent_*. Job monitors are not included. Monitor types: Metric learns field statistics or custom metrics; Validation checks rows against conditions; Custom SQL checks the result of your own query; Comparison compares a metric between two sources. In the product: Comparison is metric_comparison; Comparison - legacy is comparison. In the product: on the Monitors page bulk_metric is Metric and bulk_pii is PII. |
monitor__monitor_uuid | The monitor's id as a value, to filter on a list of monitors (group by the monitor itself to get one row per monitor). |
monitor__parent_monitor_uuid | Parent monitor of a generated rule or bulk child; empty for top-level monitors. |
